Being a refugee and staying in camps has never been a choice of any human being but many find themselves in such a circumstance due to the uncertainties of this world.
A refugee is known to be someone who has been forced to flee his or her home or country to seek for protection elsewhere because of unending wars, religious, ethnic and political persecutions.Epidemic outbreaks and natural disasters are some of the leading factors of the ever increasing numbers of refugees worldwide.It’s also heart breaking to learn that children and women make more than 50% of refugee population.
In camps, refugees live in crowded conditions in some of the most remote and inhospitable living conditions. Refugees are not allowed to grow their own food in the camps. Nor are they allowed to earn an income for their labor in most host countries. They survive on meager food rations and water that is trucked in or wells which are dug for them. Waiting in line for water is a major activity of the day. Tents and temporary structures become permanent homes. Safety is not assured. Refugee camps are not safe places to raise a family and yet many children are born there. While refugees wait for the opportunity to return home, locally integrate or be resettled, they stagnate, become dependent, lack stimulation, lose motivation and even hope resulting in a tremendous waste of human potential and birth of dangerous behaviors.
Like any other person even refugees are precious people of God dearly loved and cared for by Him and this explains the purpose of our Refugees Outreach Programme. The programme was put in place with a sole purpose of sharing the all-powerful holistic Gospel of Christ with precious lives living is several refugee camps worldwide. Our programme achieves its goals by working with local authorities to ensure refugees have access to all basics of life we are able to offer based on our means time to time.
Reaching out to treasured people of God in camps situated in different geographical locations worldwide, has significantly facilitated our practical discovery of the ever existing great need in refugee camps and the infinite opportunity of sharing the glorious Gospel of Christ,that outstandingly persuades and transforms lives in all spheres alike.
